You’re paying too much.
We fixed that.
New Hampshire has some of the highest electricity rates in the country. A Bright Spot Solar PPA locks you in at nearly half the state average.
NH Utility Average

Savings apply to the energy your system produces. Utility charges still apply on any grid electricity you use beyond that. See details →
What is a Power Purchase Agreement?
A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a financial arrangement where Bright Spot Solar installs, owns, and maintains solar equipment on your property at no upfront cost. You simply pay a fixed rate for the clean electricity it produces, typically lower than your current utility rate.
No installation costs, no equipment purchase. We handle everything.
We own and maintain the system for the entire 20-year term.
A flat $0.15/kWh locked in for the full 20-year term, with no annual increases.
How PPA Works for You
Site Assessment
We analyze your property and energy usage to design the optimal solar system.
We Install & Own
Bright Spot Solar installs dual-axis trackers on your property at our expense.
You Pay Only for Power
Pay a fixed rate per kWh for solar energy consumed. We handle all maintenance.
Save & Go Green
Enjoy lower electric bills and reduce your carbon footprint for 20+ years.
Benefits that add up.
Everything you’d expect from owning solar, without any of the cost, complexity, or risk.
A flat $0.15/kWh on every kWh your solar system produces, locked for the full 20-year term. Your solar rate never changes while utility rates typically climb year after year.
On every solar-produced kWh. Any grid electricity used beyond what the system generates is billed separately by your utility at their standard rate. See details →

Bright Spot PPA vs. Traditional Options.
Most New Hampshire homeowners get power one of two ways: straight from Eversource (or their local utility), or by switching to a short-term 3rd-party supplier. Both leave you exposed to rising rates and zero local generation. Here’s how a Bright Spot Solar PPA stacks up.
Feature
Option A
Eversource / Local Utility
Option B
3rd-Party Supplier
Option C
Bright Spot Solar PPA
Feature
What You Actually Get
Eversource / Utility
Grid power from distant plants, with occasional “green” claims via renewable credits.
3rd-Party Supplier
Grid power from distant plants, often bundled with RECs sourced from far away.
Bright Spot PPA
Locally produced solar from a dual-axis tracker installed on your property.
Feature
Rate Structure
Eversource / Utility
Confusing: supply + delivery + a dozen mysterious fees and riders.
3rd-Party Supplier
Only the supply portion. You still pay full utility delivery charges on top.
Feature
Price Guarantee
Eversource / Utility
Guaranteed to climb. NH residential rates now average roughly 25–28¢/kWh total.
3rd-Party Supplier
Short-term (6–36 months). Rates often jump after the intro period.
Feature
Term Length
Eversource / Utility
Month-to-month. They can change rates at any time.
3rd-Party Supplier
1–3 years typical, then rolls over at a higher rate.
Bright Spot PPA
20-year initial term with the option to extend another 20 years.
Feature
Backup Power During Outages
Eversource / Utility
None.
3rd-Party Supplier
None.
Bright Spot PPA
Optional 27.82 kWh battery system available as a one-time purchase. Keeps your tracker running when the grid goes down.
Feature
Renewable & Local
Eversource / Utility
Mostly distant fossil and nuclear mix with some REC shuffling.
3rd-Party Supplier
May claim “green” energy via RECs sourced from far away.
Bright Spot PPA
True local solar produced right on your land: visible, verifiable, and adds real value to your home.
Why the Bright Spot PPA usually wins for NH homeowners.
True long-term protection
Eversource rates keep creeping upward and 3rd-party deals expire in a year or two. Your solar rate stays flat at 15¢ for two decades.
Local solar advantage
You’re not buying slightly-cheaper grid power. You’re generating clean electricity on-site that offsets your usage before it ever hits the utility meter.
Simplicity & peace of mind
No confusing bills, no shopping around every year, no performance risk. We own, maintain, monitor, and insure the entire system.
Bottom Line
Sticking with Eversource means paying whatever they decide to charge next year, and the year after.
Switching to a 3rd-party supplier might save a penny or two on supply for a short while.
A Bright Spot PPA gives you local solar at a guaranteed lower rate for 20 years, with all the hassle and risk handled by us.
Typical PPA Terms
Standard term with option to extend another 20 years at market rates (minimum 10% below utility rates).
Excess solar credits offset your utility charges. We manage all utility account coordination.
Agreement transfers seamlessly to new property owners, adding value to your property.

How the 15¢ Rate Works
Exactly how the billing works.
Your flat 15¢/kWh rate applies to every kilowatt-hour your solar system produces, locked for 20 years with no escalator. That rate covers both the 8¢ supply and the 7¢ delivery portion on solar production.
If in any given month your home uses more electricity than the tracker generates (think heavy winter loads, a stretch of cloudy days, or usage growth like an EV or added HVAC), that extra grid draw is billed by your utility at their standard rate, and any utility fees are passed straight through to you.
We size every PPA system so annual solar production is built to meet or exceed annual home usage. Excess daytime production banks against nighttime and cloudy-day draws, and most of our customers end up fully offset on an annual basis. But sizing never eliminates utility charges on a month where your use outruns your production. It just makes those months rare.
Every utility handles billing, crediting, and fees a little differently, and those details are always passed straight through to you at whatever rate your utility sets. Want a breakdown for your specific situation, including whether a battery makes sense on your utility? Reach out and we'll walk through exactly how the numbers would work for your home.
Before you sign, we build your system size off 12 months of your actual utility bill so you know exactly what to expect.
